Geographic view coverage

County, House, and commissioner views use supplied turnout-file fields. College Station, Bryan, and Bryan SMDs 1–5 select candidate precincts from the supplied district chart dated August 31, 2026, then retain only those with more than 20% of mapped precinct area inside the applicable city. The threshold excludes whole precincts; it does not allocate voters by area. Every Bryan SMD uses the Bryan city boundary for this test. Retained city-designated split precincts use full numeric parent counts as disclosed whole-precinct estimates, which may include records outside the incorporated city or assigned SMD. Each numeric precinct is counted once per view. Mailing-city names are not used. Area exclusions, unresolved chart assignments, and missing turnout records are disclosed separately. County voter-record verification remains pending.

Source & record handling

The cleaned Brazos turnout CSV is dated October 28, 2026 in its filename. In Person Ballot provides the early-voting flag; Mail Ballot provides the mail flag. County Commissioner provides an explicit supplied jurisdiction assignment. No ballot event dates, verified reporting cutoff, or independent county roster was supplied.

County view: records labeled Brazos in the supplied County field. House District 14: that county subset with supplied Official State House District equal to 014. Commissioner views: that county subset with the corresponding County Commissioner label. These assignments have not been reconciled to a county roster. Other-county or missing-county rows remain excluded pending reconciliation.

Record universe: “All supplied records” includes unknown voting methods. Their turnout is not independently established. “EV / BBM flagged records” includes rows with exactly one affirmative EV or BBM flag. It does not add county-only voters.

Voting method: In Person Ballot maps to early voting (EV). Mail Ballot maps to mail (BBM). Missing or conflicting flags remain Unknown. All current assignments rely on the supplied file. A future unique exact voter-ID county match takes precedence; IDs are compared as trimmed strings with leading zeros preserved.

Geography & percentages

Election precincts and commissioner precincts are different units. Commissioner membership follows the explicit supplied commissioner field. College Station uses X in the district chart’s CS CITY column. Bryan uses populated BRYAN SMD entries, with separate views for each district. Literal chart columns select candidate precincts; suffix text such as -B or -CS does not identify the city. Mailing-city names are not used.

The city area filter retains a chart-selected numeric precinct only when more than 20% of its mapped area is inside the city. A precinct with 20% or less inside—equivalently, 80% or more outside—is excluded in full. Bryan SMD views use the Bryan city area fraction, not a district-area fraction. The filter neither allocates voters by area nor verifies individual city or SMD residency. The audit shows excluded precincts, their known supplied counts, and the inside/outside area percentages.

The turnout file contains numeric precincts rather than chart split codes. Retained city-designated split portions contribute their full numeric parent counts as estimates. College Station retains parents 72 and 100 and excludes 2 and 54 under the area rule. Bryan retains parents 4, 38, 70, and 77 and excludes 3, 7, 27, and 78. Retained counts may include records outside the incorporated city or assigned Bryan SMD. Original chart keys remain in assignment metadata and exports. Multiple chart rows selecting the same parent count it once per view; College Station precinct 72 is counted once.

Selected numeric precincts with no supplied records have unknown turnout. Precinct 108 remains missing in Bryan and SMD 2, not a zero-turnout result. Source codes without a chart assignment or usable city-area coverage remain unresolved and excluded. Known counts removed by the area filter remain in the exclusion audit, separate from missing turnout. Authoritative registered subprecinct or city/SMD fields are needed to replace whole-precinct estimates with incorporated-city counts.

City maps show actual full polygons for retained election precincts, including disclosed parent estimates, with the city outline as a reference. Area-filter exclusions are not colored or included in the ordinary precinct selector and table. Bryan SMD maps show retained assigned precincts and estimates; no separate official SMD outline is claimed. Every retained precinct contributes its full supplied count.

House and commissioner maps retain their clipped jurisdiction portions and supplied assignment counts. Supplied commissioner assignments stay in the charts even when the map disagrees. Zero-intersection conflicts, missing polygons, and overlaps below 1 m² are disclosed separately and are not counted as reliable map placement. No record is moved to another jurisdiction to fit the map.

Percentages use every record in the selected view, universe, and precinct, including missing affinity. Gender percentages use the selected gender’s record count. The affinity gap is (conservative − liberal) ÷ selected records, expressed in percentage points. City-area percentages instead describe mapped precinct area. The five SMD subtotals reconcile to Bryan; do not add those subtotals again to the city total. County, city, House, and commissioner views overlap.

Aggregate data only

The dashboard, deployed source, and downloads contain aggregate counts and public boundary geometry only. Names, voter IDs, phone numbers, addresses, birth dates, and individual affinity scores are excluded.

Modeled affinity describes the supplied records. It is not declared party affiliation or a record of how anyone voted.

To improve coverage: county turnout records need exact IDs, registered election precinct, ballot method, and cutoff. Jurisdiction gaps can use an authoritative precinct/subprecinct or ballot-style crosswalk, authoritative jurisdiction fields, or verified residential locations. A separate voter-ID jurisdiction file is not required when another verified mapping resolves membership.

District chart & official boundary sources

Official GIS availability is documented separately from effective-date confirmation. Local boundary currency at the snapshot date must be checked against county and city election records.
